RE: How to remove lap sealant from TPO roof?
Don't know if it will work but WD-40 removes a lot of problem glues and pine pitch. It might work.

RE: Help - Bad Check valve? City water filled fresh tank
I had the check valve leak in my pump and when I was connected to city water the tank filled up. My fix was simple. After the pump, I installed a shut off valve. When I am using the city water I have it off and when using the pump, I open it. Remember to put in in so it will be blocking the water from the RV to pump.

RE: Where to find replacement furniture!
We replaced our furature: couch and 2 chairs. Not cheap, but does a great job even though the wait was long due to the fact they were very busy. Recommend very highly. They manufacture just RV furnature.

RE: Propane--no gas going to range
The line was a flexible line. It was located under the slide where there are angle brackets that fold when the slide comes in. I just took off the ties holding the line and installed new ties so the line would not kink.

RE: Propane--no gas going to range
If your range is on a slide check under the slide to be sure the propane line is not kinked. I had same happen to me, and ordered a regulator, but then found the kinked line.

RE: Choosing a new house battery
Just so you all know what is going on. I ordered a new charger/controller. The unit I ordered will be able to service Std, AGM and LiPO4 batteries by switching modes. This way, I can observe the unit with my current battery, and if necessary then get another battery later. In the event there is anyone else that is thinking of changing over at a later date, one must be sure that the LI battery is charged before use. So, you would have to have a LI charger prior to hooking it up to the RV. The unit I am getting is from Progressive Dynamics and is not on the open market, but is available only through the company. The model, in case anyone wants to look it up on their web site is PD9300.

RE: Choosing a new house battery
My 2012 Carriage Cameo does have LED lights in one main area. The rest are halogen. The battery is not quite a year old. This problem did not occur until the Dometic 12V fridge was installed. Initially, the fridge was not working properly on the 18g wire that was in the coach for the 3 way Norcold, so I installed 10g (?) wire and it is running colder, but still on often. It seems to suck up a lot of juice. I feel that the inverter/charger just can't keep up with it and replenish the battery or keep it going on its own without a voltage drop. Yesterday, I ran the 12V with and without the converter and just on battery finding some interesting observations. I now also have a separate charger at 15A on the battery. It is hard finding a solution to something you can't see.....electricity.

RE: Choosing a new house battery
Well thanks for staying on course for believing the problem might be my inverter/charger. I am not sure, but I ran a bunch of voltage tests and you might be right. If it is the Progressive Dynamics unit, then I still would have to make a purchase, but I could hold off on the battery. I sent a memo to Progressive wondering if there is a "smart" unit that can sense and handle both Deep Cycle AGM and LiPO4 batteries. I might also give e-trailer.com an email to see what they say. They have been excellent in the past with getting back with their tech. support. I will also still check on Li batteries, just in case.
Thermmoguy: Thanks for your story. At night, when I put my scare lights on or too many interior lights they all dim too.

RE: Choosing a new house battery
We are upgrading to a Lithium battery and a charger/converter that will accommodate same. We are getting a 12 V 100 ah+ battery. My only problem is that it appears they all might be made in the same Chinese factory, but have different names. So, I have to look closely. I can not afford those made in U.S.A. as they are out of my reach. I hope to get either 1 or 2 100 ah and put them in parallel.
If anyone has purchased a Li LiFePO4 battery in the last year and likes it, please let me know the brand and if you have it the warranty contact information.
By the way, the battery I have now is a Diehard Gel, deep cycle.

time2roll:
I cut the 12V shut off switch and the V coming from the PD is 14.4V. I am not going to disconnect wires to check other voltages. As mentioned I had checked the Progressive unit per there converter guidelines and called Progressive and it checked out as working........It would be nice is someone just answers my question about the batteries in their towable rigs instead of trying to troubleshoot.
Thanks

RE: Choosing a new house battery
Agwill The fridge is a 12 Volt only. Dometic DMC 4101
To enlarge on my question with some more information. I currently have a Gel battery and according to the battery condition light in my RV it is in the RED zone. I can't run the fridge and lights without the lights dimming. So, the battery being less than 1 yr. old is not holding voltage.

RE: Counties in Florida that allow full-time on own property?
Not in FL, but in N.C. We have 1 acre set up for RV and live on it. In reality we are supposed to be here 6 mo on and 6 mo. off, but our neighbors don't care and no one has policed us as yet. The land has to be 1 acre, agriculture zoned. Each county is different. The county next to us will almost allow anything.

Choosing a new house battery
I am confused. I have a 2012 Carriage Cameo with a battery box that measures 25Lx13HX8 5/8 deep and can not be enlarged. We recently had to purchase a 12V fridge, so now my demand for 12V is very high. My problem is what kind of battery and BRAND to get. I will probably need at least 200ah, Deep cycle. Don't know whether to get AGM or LI. If I get a LI then I will also have to change my on board converter/charger. I want to know the type of battery experience you have (Brand and type and size) and if you recommend it. When I go on the internet I find good reviews about "brand X", then find out that another site says the battery is junk. So what do you say? Remember, this is NOT for starting. Just a reliable HOUSE battery. By the way...mid price. Can't afford a $1000 battery. Also, I live full time, and am hooked up to shore power.

RE: 12v Refrigerator ratings
I have 12V Dometic 10cu. Runs good on Max setting only. Getting parts are a BIG issue.

RE: Best Fridge Type
I got a Dometic 12V fridge. It runs, but must have a special guage wire for it to run properly. Also, if something goes wrong, you might as well pray, cause you cannot get parts for it. I believe my thermostat is faulty, but can not get one unless I fork over $170 and wait 6 months. It runs well as long as it is on maximum setting. I am assuming all units that you look at that are made in China will have the same problem They are interested in selling them, but don't want to supply parts so one can repair it.

RE: No power to inverter
If you have a voltage meter always check the power with that. By just looking, you don't know if it is the plug, fuse, ground or loose wire. I had a problem with mine a while ago, so I down loaded the trouble shooter document for it and found that it was working fine. The problem was elsewhere. If you don't have VOM then learn how to use one and get a good one. Good luck!

Scotiemom:
Responding to your blog. My unit is brand new, with no parts available, so why would I get another Dometic or other fridge and throw $1500 out the window. It is running on MAX but on any other setting forget it.

RE: Dead Refrigerator
No matter what you decide on be sure you can get replacement parts. I had to replace my Norcold and did so with a Dometic 12V unit. The fridge works, but it does not respond for temperature adjustments the way I feel it should. I found out to get a replacement thermostat it would take 6 months. No parts, not good. The temps in the fridge are keeping it cold on max. setting, but if I slightly change it then the temps are too warm. Be cautious. It is a shame that manufactures want to sell you a product, but don't want to back it up with parts in the event things go wrong.
